Justin Timberlake’s “Supplies” Video References ‘Me Too’ Movement

Justin Timberlake is set to release another album coming this February 2nd called, “Man in the Woods.” So far, two singles have been released with a music video for each. The most recent release, “Supplies” has people talking and for good reason.

The music video took a direction no one was expecting when you first hear the song. The song opens up with lyrics that say, “Ain’t no need of stopping, girl,” which may sound like it’s referencing something else. After watching the video and catching lyrics in the verses like:

“We arrived solo but we were being chased around
Saw you being cornered by some guy you used to know
Stepped in between the both of y’all
Said “I’m leaving, do you wanna go?”

You can quickly begin to realize it’s about the #MeToo revolution. Can you spot all the ‘hidden’ messages?

The music video, produced by Pharrell Williams, features glimpses of Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey briefly on screens before flashing to #MeToo. There are also several shots of women revolting, the LA police outside of a riot, and at the end a child goes up to the camera and yells, “You’re still asleep. Wake up!”

What did you think of the video? Ladies, ‘there ain’t no need in stopping!’
