Arie Luyendyk Jr. is engaged, and not to Bachelor season 22 finale winner Becca Kufrin.
In case you missed it, during the season 22 finale of ABC’s The Bachelor, Arie proposed to Becca. During the three hour finale, he began questioning his decision to choose her. Then in the last, *painful* 45 minutes, he breaks off their engagement on national television before they could even make it to the After The Final Rose.
The After The Final Rose special happened last night. Becca K, Arie, and Lauren B all made it back for the special. It was revealed that after breaking things off with Becca, Arie went to Lauren’s parents house in Virginia Beach to try and win her back for a “second chance.” She accepted his second chance. That’s when he dropped down on one knee, again, and proposed…again, this time to Lauren.
“I have made some bad decisions, but the best decision was running back to you. I can’t imagine a life without you. You have shown me a love that is patient, a love that is kind, and I truly believe you are my soul mate.” Arie says, while Lauren smiles. “I’m ready to face this life with you and all that comes with it. Good and bad. I love you so much. And I want to do this in front of everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago.”
After he monologued some more about how he made a “bad decision,” (all the meanwhile his ‘bad decision’ is sitting there listening to all this.. smh.) he finally pops the question and Lauren, without any real hesitation says, “definitely!”

Host of the special, Chris Harrison, congratulates the new couple and quips, “I hope this engagement lasts a longer time.” Harrison asked Lauren about the obvious controversy with their relationship. “I’ve never been more in love with him,” said Lauren.
Harrison followed up by asking if Lauren trusts him after all of this, “Absolutely,” she replied, “I wouldn’t have given it a second chance if I didn’t think that.” Arie chimed in and said that in a “crazy” way that all this drama and controversy made them “stronger.”
The couple will now be heading out of the country for a vacation. After that, “Lauren is going to move to Arizona,” said Arie.
If you didn’t watch season 22 of The Bachelor, this is also Lauren’s second engagement. She broke things off with her fiance just before deciding to go on The Bachelor.
The last time a Bachelor break-up happened was in 2009. When Jason Mesnick broke up with winner, Melissa Rycroft, he turned around and proposed to the runner-up, Molly Malaney. They have been married for 8 years and now have two children together.
At the end of the After the Final Rose special, Harrison announced who would be the next Bachelorette… none other than BECCA KUFRIN. After that nationally-viewed heartbreak, she’s ready for round two, only this time she will come out a winner no matter what.
What we wish these girls is some PEACE!
