Both of Avicii’s parents and all three of his siblings are in Oman this week in order to repatriate his body and give him a proper burial in Sweden according to Royal Oman Police.

After speaking to his family, the police said, “They are devastated.”

Avicii’s representative stepped in and gave a statement on Thursday, “The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time.” He also said that, “No further statements would be given at this time.”

Royal Oman Police Officials gave two postmortems were done. A Royal Oman Police told CNN that, “we can confirm that there is no criminal suspicion in the death.”

It appears to be a health related issue. Two years ago, Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, retired from touring and performing. In posts on his social media pages he said the lifestyle that came with his career was “exhausting.” The 28 year-old EDM artist said, “The decision I made might seem odd to some but everyone is different and for me this was the right one.”

At 21, he had his first pancreatitis attack. He admitted at the time, “Yeah I was drinking way too much, partying in general way too much.” Acute pancreatitis at that young of an age is rare. After that happened he said it, “forced me to do a 180 and stop drinking.”

On top of the drinking habit he had acquired while playing the club circuit he also says that the job drew out his anxiety. Avicii’s more than 800 shows claimed a toll on his body and mind. When he retired, he assured his fans that despite him taking a step back from touring, he would still make music. In August 2017, he annoucned he was back in studio and would be releasing a new album.

His song, “Wake Me Up”  (2013) was the pop-cross that landed him large-scale stardom in the USA. Since his passing, many artists have shared tributes of one of their favorite collaborators. Fellow DJ, Calvin Harris said that Avicii was, “a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do.” Harris continued to say,  “My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x.”

Singer, Wyclef Jean said that Avicii was like a, “little brother” to him. He didn’t find out about his passing until he got off of a flight he was taking. He was crushed when he found out and tweeted this:

On Saturday, fans mourned together as they took over Stockholm for his memorial. Here is a photo.
