Will Smith is “Getting Jiggy With It” in the studio once again.
Apparently the “I Am Legend” actor meant business when he teased new music coming soon. Not only did he show us a preview video for a *hopefully* soon-to-be released song, but he is also a part of the official Fifa World Cup Anthem for 2018.
In this year’s anthem, Smith has a small rapping part but it definitely gets you excited in typically Fresh Prince fashion. You can check out that song below. The first day of match games kicks off on June 14th with Team USA not scheduled to play as they failed to qualify this year for the first time in nearly three decades.
If the little taste of Smith in “Live it Up” wasn’t enough for you, don’t worry, there is more! Smith is back in studio to lay down some tracks. He says he’s getting to be creative again. “I’m excited, I’m reenergized,” says Smith.
“I was doing a television show, a movie and an album every year.So it was like churning out that creativity. What happens is you get to a point when you get empty,” he said referring to his 13 year long break from music.
In his preview video of “To the Clique,” Smith addresses those divorce rumors that are circling his family. The couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary and have been subject to rumors of divorce ever since. Smith wants to shut that down, which is probably why he chose to show this line in the preview clip, “20 years of swag y’all just witnessed, stop the divorce rumors and mind your damn business,” Smith raps and sets the record straight. He later says, “The real life Incredibles, last name Smith, Jaden, Jada, Willow, Trey—y’all ain’t f–king with my clique.”
“I got the beast back,” says Smith. The best part of his upcoming music? It sounds like the old-school Will Smith rap everyone loves. It’s has a catchy beat and the Will Smith comedy that you’re craving. Check out the preview for “To the Clique” below.
No word on an official release of his music but he seems to be moving this project along.
