Reports say it is really happening. A remake of the 1995 cult classic, “Clueless,” is officially in the works.
Paramount has tapped the writer of “Girls Trip,” Tracy Oliver, to produce the film. “Glow” writer, Marquita Robinson, has been asked to do the script according to reports from Deadline. The Gen X classic was originally created by Amy Heckerling.
This is the film that boosted a lot of young actors profiles including the late Brittany Murphy, Paul Rudd, Stacy Dash, Breckin Meyer, and of course Alicia Silverstone who nailed the role of the now-iconic, Cher Horowitz.

Clueless movie 1995
The movie, which fans say really hit’s the 90’s nail on the head, is about a group of teens attending Beverly Hills High School. It follows their completely over-the-top wealthy lifestyles while they also combat totally normal teen issues, like driving. Main character, Cher, is the daughter of a wealthy attorney and wishes to get the affection of the new boy at school. She’s fashion forward and meets every Beverly Hills teen stereotype you can think of in the best way.
At this time, it’s unclear if any of the original cast will be returning for this remake or what route the new movie will take. Since it’s in it’s infancy, you can expect to wait another year or two before you can see this movie.
If you can’t wait that long for all the plaid-wearing drama, “Clueless” the off Broadway musical begins starts shows on December 11th of this year.
