Security is being stepped up at Madame Tussauds since people can’t resist the urge to defile the Nicki Minaj wax figure. On Wednesday the Las Vegas museum issued a statement saying they would be more vigilant around the Minaj figure, which is modeled in a racy pose from her music video for “Anaconda.” The figure was unveiled earlier this month, and though the rapper was not in attendance for the ceremony, she approved of it, writing on Instagram, “I love it and I can’t wait to see it.” Museum reps said, “We have been made aware of an inappropriate photograph taken with Nicki Minaj’s wax figure. We are taking immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.” Although they did not say which “inappropriate photograph” it was that sparked the response, the one that seems to have garnered the most attention was this one, showing a visitor straddling the fake Minaj from behind.
Florida police arrested a woman who they say left her three children in the car to drink at the bar, then tried to drive home intoxicated. Elissa Carter-Lopez drove the children to the bar and made them wait in the car while she went inside to drink. Carter-Lopez began to drive them home and her children told police they were afraid for their safety. According to police, Carter-Lopez came to a stop alongside the road and the children got out of the vehicle for their own safety. The children tried to reason with their mother but she sped away and left them on the sidewalk. A witness called 911 and reported the incident. Police found Carter-Lopez, who refused to get out of her vehicle and resisted arrest. She was booked into jail, but has since bonded out. The children are staying with other relatives, according to investigators.
