This Halloween, an undisclosed nightclub in Amsterdam is prepared to spray gallons of blood over guests for its first “Blood Rave.” The party, inspired by 1998 film Blade, is described as “a night-life community for likeminded individuals,” on its official Facebook page. Promoters have prompted speculation regarding the potential use of real blood. An anonymous promoter said the club has developed “a special sprinkler system with pipes running across the ceiling and thus making us able to spray blood over the crowd.” According to the source, the pipes have passed tests using “a substance resembling blood,” but the promoter insists that real blood will be used for the actual event. Blood Rave has released brief teasers to promote the freakish event, including an eight-second video demonstrating the club’s overhead sprinklers. Tickets are on sale now.
Police in a Spanish town are complaining of feeling the “effects of smoking something illegal” as a result of smelling seized marijuana stored at their station. The union representing the police officers said the 2,000 marijuana plants seized during the summer are being stored in locations including the underground parking lot and some police offices due to lack of space and the smell from the plants have been making officers ill. The union said the “unbearable smell” from the plants has caused “discomfort” and “headaches” in some officers, while others reported “feeling the effects of smoking something illegal.” The union’s complaint said, “What will people who come to report incidents think when they enter the police stations and smell such a strong odor?” The union said police management has failed to address complaints, and insists on specialized containers to be installed at the station to store the marijuana and other objects.
