The Michigan Department of Transportation has started cleaning up along I-69. MDOT will be improving almost 11 miles of eastbound I-69 from west of M-19 to east of Taylor Road. Work on this $47.4 million investment includes reconstructing the roadway and interchanges at M-19, Wales Center Road, and Taylor Road, bridgework includes repairs of seven structures and three box culverts, drainage and safety improvements, new signs and pavement markings, plus guardrail work. Drivers can expect right hand lane closures on westbound I-69 between Taylor Road and Wales Center Road. Shoulder closures will also be in effect on both northbound and southbound Taylor Road over I-69. These shoulder closures will occur between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The majority of the road work will be done this year, with bridge work scheduled to take place April through August 2016, including work to replace the Taylor Road bridge over I-69.
