A small fire in an upstairs bathroom at Anchor Bay High School on Monday morning resulted in the evacuation of the school. St. Clair County Sheriff Deputy Larry Fajardo, who is the school’s Resource Deputy, responded to the bathroom, but was unable to enter due to heavy smoke. Firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and extinguished the blaze. The school was closed for the remainder of the day. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the fire, which is believed to have been set intentionally. No suspect information has been released.
