THE BUZZ 6/30/16

Joey Fatone is opening a hot dog stand in a mall proving that beautiful things do still happen in today’s sometimes scary world. Those residing in Florida (birthplace of Joey’s new fast food joint) should be feeling about as blessed as a baptized baby. Brilliantly named Fat Ones, the hot dog and Italian ice palace will open at The Florida Mall in Orlando in August of this year.  According to the ‘N Syncer’s Twitter, the restaurant is “Home of the Fat One.” The Florida Mall’s website says fans can expect “100% Angus beef dogs that you can enjoy pressed in a variety of styles from the Reuben to the Gone Hollywood to the Boybander (5 mini hot dogs).” Five mini hot dogs called the Boybander? Discovering that your last name makes the perfect name for a stop in the food court!? After hosting popular cooking shows including the Food Network’s Rewrapped, and The Live Well Network’s My Family Recipe Rocks, Fatone has made his mark as a foodie. Now, he’s bringing his own culinary vision to life with FAT ONES Hot Dogs and Italian Ice.”

Kelly Ripa is still searching for a new cohost on Live, and it looks like Jeff Gordon is open to the possibility of becoming Michael Strahan’s replacement. This past Saturday, he said he had a great time guest hosting throughout the years and is flattered his name was thrown into the mix. However, he was quick to mention that his job as a NASCAR analyst, which he began in February, comes first. “My priority is Fox and Fox Sports, and NASCAR,” he said. “I will definitely be back in the booth next year; if there was something that could fit into and around that, great.” Strahan left the ABC talk show on May 13 after he announced he was leaving for a full-time gig on Good Morning America. Strahan was originally scheduled to leave in September, but his departure was moved up by several months in order to give Ripa and producers time to find a replacement. Since Live takes an extended summer break in August, viewers are hoping that the new co-host will be announced before the hiatus. Other possible names that have been mentioned include Rob Lowe, Anderson Cooper, and Andy Cohen.
