THE BUZZ 7/6/16

Listen up, fans of The Hills, Lauren Conrad has said time and time again that she’s moved on from the hit MTV reality show. The 30-year-old has made no secret of the fact that she’s proud of her small screen start, but between balancing her multiple business, clothing lines, books and websites, she’s got her hands full! That’s right, the lovable former Laguna Beach star juggles the responsibilities of Paper Crown Bridesmaids, LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, The Little Market, and many, many more on a daily basis. Lauren explained that she feels OK with leaving things the way they ended on the series. “I’m so proud of what we did and I feel like I ended on such a great note, and also, I’m such a snooze. No one needs to see that!” The best-selling author also admitted to us that she never takes her early start for granted, and is thrilled to be able to do what she genuinely loves on a daily basis. “I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to do with my clothing lines. Everything in this business is so temporary, so every time I’m able to do the next season and continue working that’s really exciting. I just feel really lucky in that way.” When asked if it’s easier to be a reality star or a businesswoman, Lauren laughed and replied, “I think it’s easier to have a personal life not on a reality show!”

It’s been learned Nick Carter’s pockets just got lighter because he made a hefty settlement with a bouncer who accused the singer of choking him out.  Sources close to the case say the settlement fell in the 6-figure range and Nick is the one paying the piper. As for the criminal case; you may remember the Morning Mix talked about Carter’s arrest for misdemeanor battery back in January while partying at a bar in Key West, FL. The battery charge will go away if he completes 25 hours of community service. Mark DiCowden — the bouncer’s attorney — says Carter was a “Backstreet thug” who attacked his client for trying to do his job. The lawsuit says the Backstreet Boy was originally escorted out of the Hog’s Breath Saloon for his “unruly and disrespectful” behavior and got physically aggressive — “striking and choking.”
