Justin Verlander and Chris Sale went pitch for pitch on Monday, as the Tigers edged the Red Sox 2-1, to win three out of four from Boston. Nick Castellanos broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a two out RBI single, just one of five hits for the Tigers in the game. Ian Kinsler had a home run and Andrew Romine collected two doubles and scored the game winning run. The Tigers will open a three game series with Minnesota on Tuesday at Comerica Park.
