Jordan Zimmermann pitched his best game of the season and Tigers bats took the night off, in a 2-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Comerica Park on Wednesday. Zimmermann allowed two first inning runs, but then cruised through seven more innings, allowing just six hits, no walks, and striking out six. Alex Avila singled in the only Detroit run of the game. The Tigers have won just twice in their last three series and start a four game set on Thursday with Tampa Bay.
