So close, but so far away for the Richmond High School softball team on Saturday in the state finals against Ida.  The Blue Devils led 3-0 going into the top of the seventh and were one strike away from repeating as the state champs, when the Blue Streaks erupted to tie the game.  Ida then out scored Richmond 5-1 in extra innings, to take an 8-4 victory in nine innings.  Carley Barjaktarovich had three hits for the Blue Devils and Amy Thueme drove in two runs in the loss.  Richmond went (33-5) this season.
