Aly & Aj Dropped A New Song & It’s What You Need

After 10 years of growth, the Michalka sisters, “Aly & AJ” have finally released new music!

If you aren’t familiar with, Aly &  AJ, they were a Disney sensation back in the 2000’s. Their first album Into The Rush was released in 2005 and ranked 36 on the Billboard 200. They toured a lot with Disney (they were both involved in Disney Film as well.) opening for groups like the “Cheetah Girls.”

Their cover of “The Lovin’ Spoonfuls” Do You Believe in Magic was used in the soundtrack for Now You See It…, which Aly had a starring role in, in 2006. That winter they also released a Christmas Album, Acoustic Hearts ofChristmas. I 10/10 choose this album over the Mariah Carey Christmas album. Their second album had everyone’s banger, “Potential Break Up Song” on it. Insomniac was released in 2007. In 2009 they briefly re-branded as 78Violet” to try and transition into adult music. They released a couple songs as “78Violet” until 2014.

In 2015 their Twitter page went back to “Aly & AJ” and they began reshaping their sound again, and we LOVE it.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, they talk about how it’s a “west coast” sound and friends describe it as “nostalgic.” It has a 70’s-ish feel to it and almost sounds like it should open a scene in “Stranger Things.”

Their new song “Take Me” is a taste at the new “Aly & AJ” and what we can expect more of when their album drops!
