Northern Beats Roseville

The Port Huron Northern Huskies won their first playoff game in 31 years on Friday night, with a 13-7 win over visiting Roseville in the first round of the state football tournament.  David Harris caught a four yard pass from Seth Klink with 3:49 left in the fourth quarter for the go ahead score.  Theo Ellis, who rushed for 107 yards on 19 carries, scored the other Northern touchdown on a three yard run in the first quarter.  Port Huron Northern (9-1) will host Warren De La Salle in a second round game at Memorial Stadium next weekend end.  Other playoff scores from Friday night:  Dakota 42 Anchor Bay 14, Algonac 20 Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 3, Frankenmuth 31 Almont 28, Marine City 37 Richmond 10, Deckerville 66 Mayville 28, North Huron 28 Peck 20.  Algonac will host Ida, Marine City travels to Frankenmuth, and Deckerville will host Morrice in playoff games next week.
