The Deckerville Eagles could not hold a ten point second half lead and lost in the 8-man Division 1 football championship game on Saturday 32-30 to Central Lake. QB Gavin Mortonson scored on a six yard run with 2:49 left in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback win for Central Lake. Deckerville’s Isaac Keinath tossed three touchdown passes in the game, finding Zach Ostrowski, Kenton Bowerman, and Wyatt Janowiak for scores. Brenden Handley also scored a touchdown for the Eagles on a one yard run. It is the second year in a row the Eagles have reached the final but lost. They did win a State Title in 2012.
