The Detroit Red Wings couldn’t hold a third period lead and lost in overtime 4-3 to the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night. Nathan MacKinnon set up the game tying goal for the Avs with 46 seconds left in the third period, then scored the game winner at 2:55 of overtime. Justin Abdelkader, Andreas Athanasiou, and Niklas Kronwall scored goals for the Red Wings. Detroit wraps up a five game home stand on Wednesday against Edmonton.
