A 47 year old Flint man being held at the Sanilac County Jail on charges of breaking and entering a Greenleaf Township home last Sunday has been found dead. According to Sanilac County Sheriff Gary Biniecki, Steven Shimmel was found dead Tuesday night from self inflicted injuries. Him and another suspect were being held in the jail in connection to an early Sunday morning armed robbery which resulted in two suspects being shot by the property owner. It was later announced by the Sheriff’s department that a medical marijuana grow operation on the premise was reason for the attempted robbery.
