New year, higher gas prices… according to AAA of Michigan, the statewide gas price average has gone up about 4 cents over the past week. The current average price is about $2.68-per gallon for regular unleaded. That’s about 16 cents more than gas prices this time last year. AAA says the lowest prices can be found up north in the Marquette area, and the highest prices are in the Jackson area. Port Huron area pumps are significantly lower than average, with local stations asking about $2.55 per gallon for regular unleaded.
