The Harborside Office Center on Port Huron’s Desmond Landing will have a new owner. The building’s largest tenant, SEMCO energy, has announced its intention to purchase the four story building from Acheson Ventures. Tim Lubbers, Director of Business Development for SEMCO, says the pending purchase shows the gas company’s investment in the local community. Lubbers says SEMCO occupies about 2 and a half floors of the building and expects the process to be seamless for the other tenants. The deal is expected to close by next quarter, and will also include SEMCO’s 16th street operations center, also owned by Acheson Ventures. SEMCO energy is a natural gas distributor serving the thumb area as well as portions of the Upper Peninsula and Southwest Michigan.
