Local Students participating in events this weekend to bring awareness to school safety and call for gun law reform. The event is called the “March for our Llives” and Port Huron High School student Lilly Hurtubise tells WPHM the event starts Saturday noon at the Municipal Office Center in Port Huron with a rally, followed a march down McMorran Boulevard. Similar marches are being held across the country this weekend as well. Hurtubise tells WPHM’s Paul Miller her goal for the event is to connect with the younger generation and call for more regulations for semi-automatic weapons. The event is prompted in response to a school shooting in Parkland Florida last month.
