A green space being proposed by City Manager James Freed to replace a block of Quay Street between Huron and Michigan Avenues in Downtown Port Huron. James Freed will be rolling out his idea to the Downtown Development Authority Wednesday. Feed says it would allow local businesses to have an outdoor dining area and make the city more walker friendly. He says he will seek the input of area business owners to see if there is interest in the project. Freed tells WPHM the removal of the city street would make the block a unique gathering place, and would eliminate the need for the city to repave the street which is deteriorating. The D.D.A. is scheduled to meet Wednesday evening.
