G-Eazy Breaks Silence on Arrest: “I Am Embarrassed”

Last week rapper, G-Eazy, was arrested from a Swedish night club. He was charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, and assault.

On Friday is was announced he was able to avoid doing jail time. He took to social media to express his gratitude. “Grateful & blessed to be free & safe,” said G-Eazy, born Gerald Gillum. Instead of jail time, G-Eazy landed a two year probation and had to pay 80,000 krona which converts to about 9,000 dollars for his crimes. He also was required to pay 6,500 krona in restitution ($810,) to the security guard he assaulted.

In the video obtained by TMZ Thursday, you can see G-Eazy being escorted into a police vehicle and girlfriend, Halsey hugging a friend.

According a source with E!News, before they got to Solidaritet where the arrest happened, they were at a small after party at Nosh and Chow, an elegant restaurant in Stockholm. According to the source, G-Eazy and Halsey were fine at the after concert party that was thrown for them.

“When he was at Nosh and Chow everybody had a good time and there was no problems whatsoever,” said the source. “Nosh and Chow was the low-key after-party for them and their friends. It was hosted by Roshi Hoss and Joel Ighe”

“They were having a good time, dancing and being positive and friendly. It was them, Sean Kingston and their friends and crew.”

According to the reports from TMZ, the rapper was partying in the club and acting, “belligerent.” Security approached G-Eazy and asked him to calm himself. That’s allegedly when G-Eazy began to throw punches that resulted in a guard getting struck in the face. They detained him and police confiscated cocaine from his pocket according to TMZ and The Blast.

On their social media stories, there were several videos of Halsey, G-Eazy and Kingston handing out shots. Before the events of the night, Halsey posted this photo to Instagram from inside of a restaurant.

She has not posted since the incident, but yesterday G-Eazy broke his silence. Before his Denmark performance he posted this sentiment:

“Grateful & blessed to be free & safe. Happy to be in Copenhagen tonight doing what I love most.
Embarrassed & apologetic beyond words about the incident, but above all I’m so fucking grateful they let me go, craziest experience of my life, awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I’m grateful as fuck to be a free man, back on tour performing for the fans. Thank you to everyone who’s held me down along the way and supported this journey, I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. Love.”
