One arrested in string of weekend thefts

A man is in custody in connection to weekend thefts in the Emmett and Sandusky areas. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department tells WPHM several residents in the Emmett area reported items stolen from their cars early Saturday morning. Upon investigation, Sheriff’s officials received information from the Sandusky police regarding several thefts in that city as well, including a stolen car, believed to be connected to the Emmett larcenies. On Saturday afternoon, after a tip from the public, sheriff’s officials arrested a man at the Marathon Station near I-69 in Emmett. The man, a 41-year old who says he is homeless, will face multiple larceny and breaking and entering charges. The stolen car was recovered.
