Cardi B Deletes Instagram After Feud with Azealia Banks is Reignited

A feud we thought had blown over between Azealia Banks and Cardi B found some more fuel.

Azealia Banks had an interview last Friday (May 11th) with the radio morning show, The Breakfast Club. Banks is known for always being outspoken. During this interview she called Cardi B everything from, “illiterate, untalented rat” to the major shade of a, “caricature of a black woman.” What brought this on?

Banks and The Breakfast Club were talking about black women and culture within the entertainment industry. She started referencing Beyonce’s Lemonade album, “Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high.” She went on to say, “There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally.”

So far so good, but then she said, “then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B.”

To make it worse when she went to clarify what she meant Banks said, “I’m just talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with. Like, if my spelling and grammar was that bad, I’d be canceled. If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, we would be ragging on her all day.”

Cardi B caught wind of this interview quickly and responded with, “I’m from the hood. I speak how I speak I am how I am.” She responded on her Instagram and some on Twitter. She even posted of a video on Instagram of the interview and said, “I didn’t ask to to be a example or role model, I don’t wanna change my ways because I’m famous, that’s why I just mind my business.”

Fans were able to screenshot Cardi B’s Instagram responses before she deleted her account. “I did not choose to be famous people choose me! People followed me on Instagram and the people gave me a platform to introduce my talent,” she wrote.

In the end, Cardi B deleted her Instagram. Her Twitter is still activated.

This feud began back in September. Banks called Cardi B a, “poor man’s Nicki Minaj.” Banks also went on to accuse Cardi of using a ghostwriter for her first big hit, “Bodack Yellow.” Cardi B responded to the shade in a humorous way. By posted a video of Banks dancing to “Bodack Yellow” in the club.
