Gas prices reach new 2019 high

Michigan gas prices are up about 7-cents according to the latest gas price survey from AAA. The auto club says prices reached a new 2019 high price of $2.62 last Wednesday before falling to a current average daily price of $2.59 a gallon. Prices are currently 22-cents more than this same time last month and 3-cents more than this same time last year. The most expensive gas in the state can be found in Traverse City, while the cheapest prices are in the Flint and Tri-Cities areas. Across the local area, pumps in Lapeer and Sanilac Counties are at $2.58 on average, while Macomb and St. Clair county pumps are asking $2.55 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
