An automotive related business will be purchasing a 141,000 square foot building in Port Huron’s Industrial park, which could result in nearly 200 jobs and over $14-million in investments over the next five years. Announced yesterday, R & E automated systems – headquartered in Romeo – will be purchasing the complex with the help of a 750-thousand dollar performance based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan Strategic Fund. R & E automated systems provides automation, prototyping, and engineering services for hundreds of global clients, including many in the automotive industry. The Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County worked to recruit the company and a job fair hosted by Michigan Works is expected in the future.
