The Michigan Department of Natural Resources recently approved nearly $2 million in Recreation Passport grant funding. The money will be shared by 18 communities across the state for local park improvement projects. Included is a $31,000 grant to the City of Port Sanilac for improvements to the city’s Harbor Park. Imlay City will also receive funding from the grants, with $150,000 going towards a splash pad project. The DNR says applicants needed to clearly demonstrate that projects would increase public access to quality outdoor recreation opportunities.
