McLaren Port Huron Hospital will soon be searching for a new president and CEO. The hospital announced Tuesday that Jennifer Montgomery will be resigning from her position effective July 31st. She will be taking a similar at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio, which is in the process of joining the McLaren Health Care system. Montgomery has been president and CEO of McLaren Port Huron since 2015. Prior to being named CEO, Montgomery was the Chief Nursing Officer at the hospital. She started her career at the hospital in 1993 as a staff nurse, prior to Port Huron Hospital’s acquisition by McLaren Health Care.

“I’ve made my decision to leave McLaren Port Huron with mixed emotions,” said Montgomery, in a statement to WPHM “I have been part of this hospital for 25 years, and I am humbled to have worked with such a dedicated team of health care professionals along the way.” As president and CEO, Montgomery oversaw the hospital’s $161-million facility expansion including a new patient tower and cancer center. The McLaren Port Huron Board of Trustees is expected to enter into a search process to find the hospital’s next president at CEO.
