Police say an intoxicated man started meowing at them while they investigated a report of reckless driving. Officers received a report about someone in a Mercedes-Benz driving recklessly through the parking lot of Hooters. The vehicle was not occupied when they found it. Officers then received a call about an intoxicated man harassing customers in front of Hooters. Yup, it was the same guy. They located the 25-year-old man, who was heavily intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. When an officer asked for the man’s name, he responded, “Meow.” The officer then asked the man’s real name, to which he again responded, “Meow.” Officers asked the man for his ID and he told them he didn’t have one, police said. After charging the man with public disorderly conduct, an officer found an ID identifying him as the Mercedes-Benz owner. He was charged with giving false information to police.
A street performer drew outrage Monday when she paraded around Times Square topless and in a short skirt with her infant daughter dressed the same way. Black paint covered the woman’s breasts, and her little girl, who looked about 2 years old, also bore a black stripe across her otherwise bare chest. Moments later, a cop approached and ordered the mom to cover up the tiny tot, which she did. The city has recently created a task force to come up with a solution to the tawdry characters who troll Times Square for tourist tips, including the desnudas, topless women with painted breasts who pose for pictures in exchange for gratuities.
